The Kenora & Lake of the Woods Regional Community Foundation awarded The Borrowing Cupboard a grant of $3,500 towards the purchase of equipment. The grant was awarded at the end of 2021 and The Borrowing Cupboard board is reviewing the lending data of the operation before deciding on what equipment is most needed. In a tremendous show of mutual support, the local CUPE 3624 at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital generously donated $500 towards operational expenses at The Borrowing Cupboard.
The Borrowing Cupboard and the LOWDH have long enjoyed a strong community partnership. We're conveniently located close to the hospital so patients can easily access our services. We have several board members who are hospital employees. The Rehab Department staff are working volunteers with access to lend our full line of mobility equipment. We work together to support the needs of post-surgical, out-patient and physiotherapy patients.

The Borrowing Cupboard has been fortunate to have early and dedicated support from our local RTO and we've maintained a strong partnership through board membership and volunteer activity. We're very proud to have received this donation from RTO District 26.
